Golf Swing Mechanics

Golf sport has gained fame in the recent past where many people play golf for leisure and competition. However, golf being an easy game for one to learn, it is quite difficult to master the tactics. Therefore, for successful golf play, one needs to understand the golf mechanics which may eventually result to hitting different shots which includes a putts and drives. The following are the golf swing mechanics which can be successfully applied in practice and also for learning purposes for those who would wish to be golf experts.

Preparing the Swing

When preparing the swing, club head should be placed behind the ball and make sure that your body is in a parallel position with the target line. The target line is also defined as the path which the ball is intended to follow from the initial location of the shot to its definite destination. The target line and the feet of the golfer should always be a width apart.

To keep a tight grip, the little finger of the dominant hand need to be kept close or intertwined with the index finger and on the other hand, the thumb of the non-dominant hand should be put along lifeline belonging the opposite hand so as to make sure that one hand sits on the other hand above. This will give a tight and comfortable grip.

Back swing

During the back swing, the golfer should keep his club-head close the ground as much as possible while shifting the weight of the back foot. In addition, the golfer is advised to turn his upper part of the body until front shoulder is just located immediately behind golf ball. This will give a better position to back swing the golf ball in the long run.
Downswing and Follow Through

Downswing and the follow up of the golf ball require the golfer to uncoil and position the club to face downwards the golf ball. This will also require the golfer to strike a balance when pivoting the rear knee inwards while at the same time keeping the arms and golf club ready for action. In addition, contact will the golf ball need to be established which extends the club stick in a straight position.

Follow Through

After hitting the golf ball, the golfer should dip his back shoulder downwards and make a pelvis rotation towards intended destination of the ball. This has a double benefit as it avoids the straining of the pelvis area which will eventually cause a short and mild pain, moreover, the golf ball will move a greater distance thus adding value to the golfer in the long run.

Putting is a small and controlled motion with a main intention of achieving the intended objective. The putter’s face must be concentrated towards the target line of the ball because swinging motion created resembles a pendulum.
Bearing in mind and mastering the above golf swing mechanics, it expected that a learner will be a golf expert in a short period of time while at the same time being an overall winner in case of a competition.

Right Arm In The Golf Swing

Right Arm

Finding the perfect golf swing that always delivers a straight, long, consistent shot is hard for a beginner. The first thing anyone has to do before taking up golf it to find out whether he or she is right hand oriented. If you are a right-handed player then your right arm will form the basis of your practice as you strive to improve your golf swing. The following discussion is a straightforward guide on what you should do to improve your right arm in golf swing.

When you are starting out on a golf course, you should know that little things make the difference. In golf, the tiniest wrong detail can throw everything off even if you have the right way of bringing the clubhead to the ball square. Advice from any reputable golf coach will confirm that the best format of playing requires you to put width on the swing for the ball to go a long way. In this regard, you should extend both your arms at takeaway so that you come up with the longest possible swing arc. The wisdom of moving the club further away is to make it gain enough speed before it hits the ball.

Unfortunately, wide and long arcs cause accuracy problems. You are likely to compromise your swing path and clubhead control when you go for a wide arc. You need to use an alternative method that delivers both the speed and accuracy that you need on the course. When you are on the backswing, bend your right arm a little bit so that your shoulders have room to rotate behind the ball as you get to your swing’s apex. When you bend the right arm, you give it enough room so that it does not force your left wrist to bend backwards and throw your clubface out of square.

When you fold your right elbow, you will release any tension that might build up on the backswing. The lack of arm tension lets you maintain your clubface in position so that you do not compromise your swing path.

You should then let the shoulders turn back naturally until they match the target line as you make your downswing. At this point, your right arm will extend again so that you retain maximum power on your clubhead at impact with the ball. Note that on the downswing, your arm will tuck to the right side and allow you to make impact while it is still bent. It will eventually straighten when you are through with the upswing that delivers your ball in line as you intend.

Now that you know how to perfect your right arm in golf swing, do not hesitate to try these tips on the golf course. Remember, besides the knowledge contained herein, you also need to practice extensively. Begin by finding when you start folding your elbow and you will soon have a complete turnaround of your golf swing. Work deliberately on this form of practice until you master your right arm in golf swing before moving on to other practice types.
